AmeriCorps Program
The Mentoring Collaborative of Montgomery County (MCMC) AmeriCorps Program will address the AmeriCorps State priorities of helping children and youth achieve success in school and prevent them from dropping out before high school graduation. MCMC will serve K-12 at-risk youth in Montgomery County, Ohio by working with 10 member agencies who will serve as host sites. These host sites will implement a program to support 20 AmeriCorps members who will serve as mentor/service coordinators for 11 months to expand and enhance mentoring. The youthful energy, many talents, and dynamic commitment of MCMC AmeriCorps Program members will be leveraged to improve lives and create programs that will have a transformative impact.
The Mentor/Service Coordinator delivers and coordinates services for participants in the mentoring programs including adolescent mentees, adult mentors, parents, school teachers, and counselors for MCMC partners by serving as an advocate, and providing support and opportunities in academic and personal achievement.
